CZ.NIC is the sponsor and Hexonet aka 1 Api GmbH is our backend provider for the country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) .cz extension that represents Czech Republic.

Who can register .cz domains?

Anyone can register .cz domain names.

Registration restrictions

When registering a .cz domain, you must follow specific requirements.

  • Must use: 1-63 characters
  • Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 1st or last characters of the domain name)
  • Cannot use: Special Characters (e.g., & and #)
  • IDNs: Not supported

Features

  • Registration length: 1-10 years
  • Renewal length: 1-10 years
    • Your .cz domain name renews before its expiration date. If auto-renew is turned on, we'll attempt renewal 20 days prior to the domain's expiration date. If the first attempt fails, we'll continue attempting renewal multiple times prior to the domain's expiration date.
    • If we cannot auto-renew the domain name and you do not manually renew it by 6 days prior to the expiration date, you can attempt to recover your domain with any applicable fees.
  • Transfers to 123 Reg: Supported
    • Transfers to 123 Reg do not receive an additional year extension to the current registration term.
  • Transfers away from 123 Reg: Supported
    • Transfer Lock: Supported
    • You must initiate the transfer with the gaining registrar and provide an authorization code. Contact customer support to request an authorization code.
  • Transfers to another 123 Reg account: Not supported
  • Domain Privacy: Supported
  • Domain Protection: Supported
  • Contact Updates: Supported

Nameserver requirements

  • Must use: 2-10 Nameservers
  • Can use: IPv4
  • Cannot use: IPv6, DNSSEC
