About .la Domains
CentralNic is the sponsor and backend provider for the country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) .la extension that represents Laos, but is used as the first City Top Level Domain for Los Angeles.
Who can register .la domains?
Anyone can register .la domain names.
Registration restrictions
When registering a .la domain, you must follow specific requirements.
- Must use: 3 - 63 characters
- Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 1st, 3rd, 4th or last characters of the domain name)
- Cannot use: Special Characters (e.g., & and #)
- IDNs: Not supported
Features
- Registration length: 1-10 years
- Renewal length: 1-10 years
- Your .la domain renews on its expiration date. If auto-renew is turned on, we'll attempt renewal on its expiration date. If the first renewal attempt fails, we'll continue attempting auto-renewal multiple times until the 40th day after the domain's expiration date.
- If we cannot auto-renew the domain and you do not manually renew it by the 12th day after the expiration date, it must be redeemed with any applicable fees.
- Transfers to 123 Reg: Supported
- Transfers away from 123 Reg: Supported
- Transfer Lock: Supported
- You must initiate the transfer with the gaining registrar and provide an authorization code. Contact customer support to request an authorization code.
- Transfers to another 123 Reg account: Supported
- Domain Privacy: Supported

- Can use: IPv4, IPv6
