This article will show you how you can set your domain to renew automatically.
By default, any domain names that you purchase are set to ‘auto renew’. However, if you’ve changed your settings, you can re-implement the Auto Renew feature by following these instructions.
Please note: before proceeding, you’ll need to make sure that your domain isn’t locked. In addition to this, if you have an older version of our Domain Ownership Protection service (purchased before August 2023) in place on your domain, you may need to disable this service. For details on how to do this, please read the following articles:
- How do I turn off Domain Ownership Protection (‘DOP’) for my domains?
- How do I lock/unlock my domain name?
If, however, you have our current Domain Ownership Protection service (purchased after August 2023) assigned to your domain, please continue reading.
Start by logging in to your 123 Reg Control Panel.
Next, select Manage All opposite Domains within the ‘All Products and Services’ section.
You will now see a complete list of your purchased domain names. Select which one(s) you wish to update from the provided list by clicking the checkbox next to them.
If you can’t find your domain in this list, you may be able to find it on the Domain Name Overview page within our legacy Control Panel. For more details on this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?
If you’re using our current Control Panel, click Auto-renew in the bar that appears below, followed by Turn Auto-renew on. If you can’t see this option, click More instead and you will find it within the menu that appears.
If you’re using our legacy Control Panel, click Manage opposite Domains auto-renewals. the auto renew toggle to complete this process.
If you’re using our current Control Panel, a pop-up window will now appear, asking you to confirm your choice. Click Continue.
If you’re using our legacy Control Panel, you will be taken to the Domain renewal settings page, where you can choose the auto-renewal status of your Domain Names. From here, you can select the renewal period of your domain names using the drop-down box provided and then set your domains to renew for a period of up to 10 years. You can also set the renewal status for each domain name. If there are any domain names you don’t wish to renew, simply use the toggle to set its renewal status to Off.
If you’ve enabled Domain Ownership Protection on your domain, you will need to verify your identity. This can be done via 2-Step Verification or by entering the one-time password that will be sent to your email address.
Enter your code into the provided field and click Verify.
After a few moments, you will see a confirmation message informing you that the auto-renew status of your domain(s) has been updated.
