Changing a database password
This article will show you how to change a database password
If you wish to edit the password on a database associated with your hosting package, this can be done through your Hosting product’s control panel.
Simply click on a title below to skip to the most appropriate FAQ. You can also click the Top button to return and make another selection.
Please note: you will also need to change the username and/or password for your database within your configuration file in order to keep your website running. For details on how to do this, please read the following article: How do I update the database password within my configuration file?
Web Hosting plans purchased after July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased after August 2020 (cPanel)
On your dashboard, select the cPanel Admin button that appears above Settings.
Select MySQL Databases in the Databases section.
From here, find the user you want to change below the Current Users section at the bottom of the page and select Change Password.
Enter the new password details and select Change Password to confirm this change.

Web Hosting plans purchased before July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased before August 2020
Start by logging in to your legacy Control Panel. For details on how to do this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?
From there, select Web Hosting or Premium Hosting within the ‘Manage active products’ section, depending on which product you wish to use.
Next, select Manage opposite the ‘(bought before XX/XX/XX)’ option.
This will show you an overview of your current hosting packages. Click Manage for the account you wish to use.
On the next page, select Manage for the domain you wish to update.
Click on the Database link in the Web Tools section of your hosting control panel.
In the Manage Databases section enter the new password in the empty field and press the Modify button.
