How do I add a password protected directory?
This article will show you how to password protect a directory
By password protecting directories on your hosting package, you will be able to protect certain areas of your site and only allow specific users to be able to view the directory.

Web Hosting plans purchased after July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased after August 2020 (cPanel)
On your dashboard, select the cPanel Admin button that appears above Settings.
Select Directory Privacy under the Files section.
Find and select the directory that you want to password protect.
Click Password protect this directory. Once done, select Enter a name for the protected directory and select Save.
Web Hosting plans purchased before July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased before August 2020
Start by logging in to your legacy Control Panel. For details on how to do this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?
From there, select Web Hosting or Premium Hosting within the ‘Manage active products’ section, depending on which product you wish to use.
Next, select Manage opposite the ‘(bought before XX/XX/XX)’ option.
This will show you an overview of your current hosting packages. Click Manage for the account you wish to use.
On the next page, select Manage for the domain you wish to update.
Click on the Password Protection link in the Web Tools section.
Enter the name of the directory that you wish to secure in the Directory name field.
Please Note: If the directory you wish to secure has not been created in your webhosting account it will be created by the system
Set a Username and Password, press the Add Protection button to complete the process.
You have now created a password protected directory for your website.
