How do I install WordPress on my Hosting package?

This article will help you to install WordPress on your Web Hosting plan.

Web Hosting plans purchased after July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased after August 2020 (cPanel)

Start by accessing your Web Hosting dashboard.

Select Install Application below your domain name within the Websites section.

You’ll now be taken to the Applications Browser page. From there, select WordPress Blog under the Apps for Content Management section.

Select the + install this application option that appears to the right.

On the next page, you’ll need to enter some details into the provided fields within the Location section. This includes the following:

  1. Domain: enter the domain name you want to use.
  2. Directory: where you want to install WordPress.
  3. Version: leave this as the default setting.
  4. Advanced Setting Management: we recommend changing the Administrator Username and Password to something that you can remember, as you’ll need these details to log in to your WordPress site. Be sure to change the Administrator Email to an address that you can access.

Once done, click Install to complete the process.

 

Web Hosting plans purchased before July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased before August 2020

Start by logging in to your legacy Control Panel. For details on how to do this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?

From there, select Web Hosting within the ‘Manage active products’ section and then select Manage opposite ‘Manage Web Hosting (bought before 09/07/20)’.

This will show you an overview of your current hosting packages. Click Manage for the account you wish to use.

On the next page, select Manage for the domain you wish to update.

This will open your Web hosting control panel. Scroll down the page to the Web Tools section and click theWordPress Blog icon, or the icon for the app you would like to install, such as Joomla or Drupal.

You can now choose whether or not you wish to install your app onto an alternative directory folder on your web hosting package. Leave the Installation directory blank if you wish for your app to be installed straight onto your domain name.

Click on the link which contains your full URL.

The following instructions apply only to WordPress, if you have installed a different app, follow your app’s onscreen instructions.

If you’re asked by WordPress about single or multiple installation, choose Single.

You will need to give your website a Title, you can then create a username and password.

Enter in your email address and tick the Privacy box if you wish for your website to be indexed in search engines likeGoogle. You can then click on Install Now.

You will now see a message stating that your WordPress account has been set up. Click on Log In to access your account.

You will just need to re-enter your username and password and then click on Log In.

You will now see your WordPress Dashboard. Click on the Customise Your Site button to begin designing your WordPress website.
