How do I access the File Manager?

This article will explain how to find and access the File Manager within your hosting package.

The file manager is used to manage and organise the files that you upload to your Hosting package. To access this, simply click on a title below to skip to the most appropriate FAQ. You can also click the Top button to return and make another selection.

Web Hosting plans purchased after July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased after August 2020 (cPanel)

Start by accessing your Web Hosting dashboard.

Select File Manager in the account dashboard.

After a few moments, you will be taken to your File Manager.

 

Web Hosting plans purchased before July 2020 / Premium Hosting plans purchased before August 2020

Start by logging in to your legacy Control Panel. For details on how to do this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?

From there, select Web Hosting or Premium Hosting within the ‘Manage active products’ section, depending on which product you wish to use.

Next, select Manage opposite the ‘(bought before XX/XX/XX)’ option.

This will show you an overview of your current hosting packages. Click Manage for the account you wish to use.

On the next page, select Manage for the domain you wish to access.

Scroll down to the Files section and click the File Manager button.

The File Manager displays your files based upon the folder structure they are in. The folder structure is collapsible, allowing you to organize your files and folders exactly how you want to. There are is also a toolbar at the top of the page which controls all of the actions you can carry out within the file manager.

If you prefer, use the drop down menu next to the toolbar to change the display from just icons:

Some of the most useful icons to note are:

  • Home – This takes you back to the top of your file path.
  • Go Back – This takes you back a step within your file path.
  • Go Forward – This takes you forward a shot within your file path.
  • Select All – This selects all the files in the current window.
  • Select None – This deselects all files.
