This article will explain the first steps you will take with your 123 Reg Virtual Private Server.
Since this process differs depending on which version of our Virtual Private Server you have, please select your version from the list below and follow the provided steps to get started.
Please note: this is an irreversible process that will erase all content on your server’s hard drive, including backups.
Current Generation
Start by logging in to your 123 Reg Control Panel.
Next, select Servers within the ‘All Products and Services’ section.
Click Manage opposite the VPS you want to set up.
On the next page, give your server a name.
Choose your preferred Operating System from the provided list along with the location of your data centre. We recommend choosing one that’s closest to your location.
Once you’ve done this, click Next.
Enter a username and password into the provided fields and click Finish.
After a few moments, your server will be ready for you to use.
Previous Generation
Open a Web browser (for example: Chrome or Safari) and type : https://[[ipaddress]]:2086/ into the address bar.
Please Note: You can find your IP address in your welcome email, you will need to replace the [[IPADDRESS]] part of the URL above.

Enter the Username and Password supplied in your welcome email.
You will now be presented with a Setup Wizard. The wizard is broken into six steps, you must complete each step to proceed to the next one.
For the next step you will have to Setup Networking.
You will have the option of Setting up IP addresses.
The next step allows you to chose and set up Nameservers.
You can choose and set up various Services such as FTP Configuration and Mail configuration.
The Wizard also allows you to choose and set up Quotas. Then click the Finish Setup Wizard.
You will now be taken to the main cPanel WHM page. Your VPS is ready to use.
