This article will explain how you can point your domain name to your 123 Reg VPS or Cloud Server.
Please note: this article was originally created for our previous generation of Virtual Private Servers. As such, these instructions may not be relevant to our current generation of Virtual Private Servers.
Start by logging in to your legacy Control Panel. For details on how to do this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?
From there, select Domain Names within the ‘Manage active products’ section.
Next, choose your domain name from the provided list and then select Manage.
Scroll down to the Advanced Domain Settings section and click on the Manage DNS (A, MX, CNAME, TXT) link.
From the Advanced DNS tab.
Select A from the Type drop down list in the Add new entry section.
In the Hostname field enter www
In the Destination IPv4 address field enter your 123 Reg VPS IP address.
Click on the Add new entry button to save the new record.
Select A from the Type drop down list in the Add new entry section.
In the Hostname field enter @ to create the non www. record for your domain.
In the Destination IPv4 address field enter your 123 Reg VPS IP address.
Click on the Add new entry button to save the new record.
Select A from the Type drop down list in the Add new entry section.
In the Hostname field enter * to create the wildcard record for your domain.
In the Destination IPv4 address field enter your 123 Reg VPS IP address.
Click on the Add new entry button to save the new record.
If these records are to replace an existing record you can delete the original record by pressing the delete button.
Please Note: It will take between 24 - 48 hours for the new DNS records to become active.
