How do I switch to the root user on my VPS?

This article will show you how to switch users within your Virtual Private Server.

If you need to install any software or change core elements of your Virtual Private Server, you will need to switch to the root (or admin) user. For details on how to do this, please follow the instructions outlined below.

Start by enabling root or admin access for your Virtual Private Server.

Connect to your server via SSH and enter the following:

sudo su -
