123 Reg VPS Management Guide

This article will show you how to manage your Virtual Private Server.

Please note: this article was originally created for our previous generation of Virtual Private Servers. As such, these instructions may not be relevant to our current generation of Virtual Private Servers.

How do I access my dashboard?

Start by logging in to your legacy Control Panel. For details on how to do this, please read the following article: How do I access and manage my products?

From there, select Virtual Private Servers (VPS) within the ‘Manage active products’ section and then select Manage opposite Manage Virtual Private Servers (VPS).

You will now be taken to the VPS Overview page, where you’ll see all your purchased VPS packages. From here, click Manage for the plan you wish to access.

You will now have accessed your dashboard, where you can see the details for your VPS.

 

How do I log in to my VPS?

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

 

Step 2 of 3

From there, click Login to your VPS within VPS status.

 

Step 3 of 3

After a few moments, you will have accessed your VPS.

 

How do I change the Operating System?

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

From there, select the Manage VPS tab.

On the next page, select Change OS opposite Operating system within the ‘Server Information’ section.

 

Step 4 of 4

A pop-up window will now appear, asking you to select a new Operating System.

Choose which one you wish to use from the provided drop-down menu and then click Reimage VPS to confirm your choice.

Please note: we recommend that you make a backup of your data before proceeding, as changing the Operating System will reimage your VPS and wipe all the data on your disk space.

 

How do I change the Control Panel for my VPS?

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

 

Step 2 of 4

From there, select the Manage VPS tab.

 

Step 3 of 4

On the next page, select Change CP opposite Control Panel within the ‘Server Information’ section.

 

Step 4 of 4

A pop-up window will now appear where you can select your new Control Panel.

Choose which one you wish to use from the provided drop-down menu and then click Proceed to confirm your choice.

Please note: selecting a new Control Panel will reimage your VPS, causing you to lose all your data.

 

How do I purchase more memory/storage/CPU cores?

Step 1 of 4

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

 

Step 2 of 4

From there, select the Upgrade option opposite CPU cores, Memory or Storage within the Server Information section.

It doesn’t matter which one you select as they will all perform the same action.

 

Step 3 of 4

A pop-up window will now appear, asking you to select the amount of CPUs, RAM and storage you would like to purchase.

Choose the amount you wish to upgrade to by selecting the + icon for each field and then click Purchase to confirm your choice.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your purchase and receive your upgrades

Please note: your VPS will reboot following the upgrade.

How do I purchase additional IPs?

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

From there, select the IP tab.

 

Step 3 of 5

On the next page, click Buy more IP addresses.

 

Step 4 of 5

A pop-up window will now appear, in which you can select the number of new IPs that you would like to purchase. Once you’ve made your selection, click Purchase to continue.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your purchase.

 

How do I buy more backup storage space?

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

 

Step 2 of 5

From there, select the FTP Storage tab.

 

Step 3 of 5

On the next page, you will see all the FTP backup storage available for your VPS. From here, click Buy more storage.

 

Step 4 of 5

A pop-up window will now appear where you can choose how much storage space you wish to purchase.

Once you’ve decided upon an amount, click Purchase to proceed.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your purchase.

 

How do I activate my IPs?

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

 

Step 2 of 5

From there, select the IP tab.

 

Step 3 of 5

On the next page, click Assign a new IP address.

 

Step 4 of 5

A pop-up window will now appear, asking you to select which domain name you wish to assign your new IP address.

Choose or enter your preferred domain from the provided field and then select Assign Domain to proceed.

Once done, you will then need to confirm your choice by clicking Yes on the next screen.

 

How do I view my statistics?

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

 

Step 2 of 3

From there, select the Graph Stats tab.

 

Step 3 of 3

On the next page, you’ll see all the relevant statistics for your VPS package, including your bandwidth and CPU usage.

You can also sort your stats by day, week, month or year by selecting the relevant option in the toolbar.

 

How do I change the billing period?

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

 

Step 2 of 4

From there, select the Manage VPS tab.

 

Step 3 of 4

On the next page, select Change within the Billing Cycle.

 

Step 4 of 4

A pop-up window will now appear, asking you to confirm your choice. Simply click Yes to confirm that you wish to change your billing cycle.

Please note: this change will take effect at the end of your annual or monthly contract.

 

How do I reboot/rebuild my VPS?

Start by accessing the dashboard for your VPS.

 

Step 2 of 3

From there, select the Console tab.

 

Step 3 of 3

On the next page, you can reboot or rebuild your VPS as well as update its status by selecting the relevant option below.

Please note: rebuilding your VPS will delete all your data.
