Start by logging in to your Website Builder package.
From there, access the page you wish to add your blog to and add a new section.
Select Blog & Newsletter from the right-hand menu and then click Blog.
Click the Add button for your preferred section.
After a few moments, a Blog section will be added to your page. From here, you can change the design of your blog and set whether you will manage your blog via Website Builder or pull content from an external blog.
If you already have a blog, select the External blog feed option and then enter your Feed URL into the provided field, which should end in ‘/rss’. If, however, you want to create articles through Website Builder, leave My blog selected and then click Manage Blog.
You will now be taken to your dashboard, where you can manage all your blog posts. Click Create Post to start writing a new article.
Give your article a title and enter your main content into the large field below. You can also add images, videos and divider lines to your article by clicking the + icon that appears on the left. Be sure to add one or two categories to your article and set a featured image as well, both of which will improve the chances of visitors finding and reading your article.
Once you’re done, click Publish to upload your article. Alternatively, you can publish your article at a later time by clicking Set Publish Date.
To edit any existing articles, simply return to the Blog page on your dashboard and select the three-dot icon opposite the blog you want to change. Next, click Edit Post from the drop-down menu that appears.
Alternatively, you can remove your article by clicking Delete.
To edit your categories, edit any of your blog articles by following step 8 above and then click Edit opposite Categories. You will now be able to amend your categories by clicking the pencil icon or delete them by clicking the bin icon. You can also add new categories by entering a name into the provided field and clicking Add.
Once you’re happy with your changes, click Update to save them.
Version 8
From there, access the page you want your blog to appear on and select Blog in the left-hand menu.
Click Add Blog from the menu that appears.
While your blog is being set up, you’ll be given a quick overview to help you get started. Simply click the buttons provided to continue through the initial setup.
You’ll now be shown your blog where you’ll have a couple of placeholder articles for you to freely edit. You can edit these example posts by clicking the pencil icon, or you can delete them by clicking the bin icon.
Should you wish to create a new article instead, simply click New Post.
After clicking New Post, a new pop-up will appear where you’ll need to enter details such as the post title and author, along with an associated image.
These details can be edited later, so don’t worry if they need to be updated. Once you’ve entered this information, click Start.
This will take you to the blog editor section, where you will be shown a preview of your new post. You can populate your article with more content by selecting Widgets in the left-hand menu and then dragging and dropping any text, images, videos and more onto your page.
From there, you can edit them by clicking them and making any necessary adjustments as you would on your usual Website Builder pages. You can even add individual blog widgets, such as recent posts or a search function, to your page.
If you wish to edit the details for your article, such as its title, description and main image, select the gear icon within the top toolbar.
From here, you can also change the URL for your article as well as add metadata that will improve your site’s ranking on search engines.
Once you’ve finished your article, click Publish Post to upload it. Alternatively, you can schedule it for a later date by selecting Schedule post publish, as represented by the clock icon.
